Welcome! Today we’re going to share our second of several examples of a gifted employee who cannot seem to get past several factors keeping them from promotion. When the company couldn’t address its challenges properly, it called us. Here’s a scenario. Our client is a distribution company whose warehouse manager, Joe, is a little rough around the edges but extremely knowledgeable about the products, services and their uses. He took to the idea of coaching enthusiastically; however, his history indicated a lack of follow-through. Chuck, how did you approach that situation with Joe?
Dr. Chuck Coker
John, once I learned that Joe’s challenge was that he wanted to learn but was afraid to respond promptly to what he learned. We began working on his motivation in response to feedback. His analytical nature sought perfection from every angle, which created anxiety, hampering him from action. Once we helped him see his level of knowledge and expertise, we developed a process that allowed him to tick the boxes and move ahead without fear. Within months, we saw Joe become more assertive with his deep insights into the products and services in his warehouse. John, coaches love working with people who identify where they can improve themselves in their careers. You, too, can discover which aspects of the growth and development process really need help. You can do that at no cost at the address listed in this video. We hope you’ll take advantage of our research and see how you can accelerate your personal and professional success.
